In 2014 Dr. Dale and Liza Grotelueschen established an endowed scholarship within the NVMA Centennial Scholarship Foundation to periodically award scholarships to veterinary practitioners enrolled in graduate studies. The purpose is to encourage and assist veterinarians with practice experience who are pursuing an advanced degree in the area of Veterinary Production Medicine and Epidemiology. Dr. and Mrs. Grotelueschen are long-term members of the NVMA and NVMA Auxiliary and supporters of the Centennial Scholarship Foundation since its inception.
Applications will be accepted from graduate Veterinarians with two or more years of clinical practice experience. Applicants must either be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an approved Masters and/or PhD degree program. Preference will be given to veterinarians practicing or having practiced in Nebraska, members of the NVMA, and to veterinarians who are graduates of a Nebraska high school.
Scholarship recipients are eligible to receive up to $5,000. The funds will be awarded as follows: $2,000 upon approval of the application, $2,000 upon graduation, and $1,000 upon presentation of graduate program results at a recognized professional state, regional, or national veterinary program.

The board of directors meets in January and September of each year. Applications received by September 1 will be reviewed at the September board meeting. Scholarships will be awarded at the discretion of the board as funds are available.
