Advocating for Nebraska Veterinarians and Animals
NVMA represents the Nebraska veterinary profession at the State Capitol. The NVMA lobbyist Zulkoski | Weber, LLC monitors legislation daily and works with the NVMA Board of Directors and Legislative Committee to ensure that veterinary issues are appropriately addressed and they strive to position veterinarians as the experts on animal health and welfare issues.

Grievance Resolution
The Professional and Consumer Relations Committee oversees client complaints, often resolving the complaint before legal or licensure action is initiated.

Public Relations for the Veterinary Profession
NVMA participates in the Birthing Pavillion at the Nebraska State Fair
Animal Hall of Fame Award
Outreach Program in which vouchers are given to graduates of service dog teams to use toward the care of their animal.

Continuing Education Conference
The NVMA presents two premier veterinary conferences in Nebraska. Join us for our Winter Conference in January our our Summer Conference in June. NVMA members receive significantly lower rates than non-members to attend. The NVMA is made up of seven Districts which offer various CE opportunities throughout the year.

Power of Ten Leadership Academy
The Power of Ten (P10) Leadership Academy is open to young veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians. The program is designed to cultivate leadership capacity and provide learning experiences that will enrich the individual and benefit the individual’s work, community, and profession. It’s a way to help recent graduates answer questions like:

  • “How can I get a better grasp on what makes me tick?”
  • “How can I form, manage and be a part of an effective team?”
  • “Who am I in the bigger picture, and what can I give to my family, my community, and my profession that will be my legacy?”
